Learn What Happens to Your Body When You Have A Lucid Dream

by Eva Baker

A friend of mine wants to try lucid dreaming but is a little scared by the whole thought of it. Could you get stuck in a dream and never wake up? Worse yet, what if you get hurt or dies in the dream, will you be gone for good?

Well, I can tell you that neither of those things will happen. It all started when someone made up the story that when you're falling in a dream, you need to wake up before you hit the ground or you'll never wake up. Have you ever heard of that happening? You will always wake up before you hit the ground; your brain knows what's going on. But then again, it is a little unfortunate that when you're doing something fun in a dream, like flying with the birds, the moment you realize how fun that is you wake up - darn!

So when you're learning How to Lucid Dream, you need to develop the skills to NOT wake up when you're doing the cool things. You need to be in a dream and not think about it. This comes with practice. And the first step in the practice phase is to remember your dreams so you will be aware of what you are dreaming about. Then you can actually take one of your regular dreams, hop in and have a little fun changing it around to your type of fun instead of just letting the dream control you.

The other fact is, the moment you start to dream your body becomes mostly paralyzed. This is so you don't get up and walk around while you're dreaming. You really don't want to be having a great dream while running into walls and tripping over things in your house. You can imagine that your flight with the birds or new ability to jump higher than the clouds would not be something you want to do in your bedroom. In this case you could get hurt while you dream.

So not being able to move your body is a good thing; not a scary thing. It's your brain that is highly active at this time. So you can't move, but you're free! And when you're dreaming, you are not even aware of the fact that you can't move! It really is the best of both worlds!
